About Me

Tara is an experienced companion animal veterinarian who has been providing acupuncture to pets in Canterbury for the last 8 years. Originally from Somerset in the UK, she graduated from Liverpool University in 2007 with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science with Distinction and a Bachelor of Conservation Veterinary Medicine. An OE to New Zealand in 2011 led to her to fall in love with the landscape, outdoor adventures, and to marry her Cantabrian husband Tim.

Further training with the Association of British Veterinary Acupuncturists followed by a Certification in Western Veterinary Acupuncture and Chronic Pain Management qualified her to support pets in her care with acupuncture. This gentle treatment complements traditional veterinary medicine to reduce pain and optimise health and quality of life for pets. Tara is Certified as a Fear Free Certified Practitioner, ensuring that your pets will be treated with the utmost care and compassion.

Based in the Woodend area, Tara is very excited to be able to offer this new mobile service to bring veterinary acupuncture care to your pets in the comfort of their own home.
